Thanksgiving is coming, and a lot of families in our area need help putting a meal on the table. Starting Sunday, November 8, a blue barrel will be set out at OPCC for you to fill with food. We’ll collect it on Sunday, November 22.

Everything goes to the ReNewed Hope Pantry at 87th and Antioch in Overland Park and will be handed out to clients Monday evening, November 23. The timeline is tight, but we can pull it off.

What to bring

We’re building a full Thanksgiving meal for a family. The pantry is covering the turkey, so we ONLY need the sides:

• Instant mashed potatoes

• Gravy mix

• Canned corn

• Canned green beans

• Cranberry sauce

• Stuffing

• Dessert items: a cake mix with a can of frosting, pie mix, or similar

• Brown-and-serve rolls
