This Labor Day Weekend, we’re taking church off campus and onto the courts for our annual Pickle Ball & Jesus (PB&J) celebration! Instead of our regular Sunday services, join us on Sunday, August 31st from 9 AM to 2 PM at Chicken N Pickle in Overland Park for a full morning of community, worshipful fellowship, food, games, and of course plenty of pickleball.

We'll be serving a delicious breakfast from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM, including biscuits & gravy, eggs, bacon, and toast. Whether you're competing in the tournament, bringing the family for some open play, or just coming to hang out and enjoy the morning with friends, we ask that every single person who plans to attend registers in advance. This includes children and anyone not playing in the tournament. Since this is an off campus event, having accurate numbers is essential for food preparation and tournament brackets.

The highlight of the morning will be our Pickleball Tournament, open to ages 13 and up. The tournament will follow a double elimination format (subject to change based on the number of teams) and will be split into novice, intermediate, and advanced brackets. Each team will consist of two players, and teams may be mixed gender or same gender. You’re welcome to bring a friend as your partner, even if they don’t attend OPCC, just be sure to include them in your registration. If you don’t have a partner, no worries, we’ll pair you up with someone in your bracket.

For those not participating in the tournament, there will be plenty of other activities to enjoy throughout the day, including bocce ball, shuffleboard, corn hole, yard games, and open play pickleball. It’s a great chance to connect with others, invite new friends, and enjoy the long weekend in a fun and meaningful way.

Again, we ask that everyone planning to attend, whether you're competing, spectating, or just eating , register ahead of time. This helps us provide the best experience possible and ensure no one goes hungry and everyone gets to play.

Hey Mamas! Looking for a way to connect with other moms and let your kiddos burn off some energy? Join us for a fun and relaxed Mommy Meet-Up on Monday, August 18 at 10:00 AM at Stillwell Community Park. Whether you’re new to the church or have been around for a while, this is a great chance to build friendships, share stories, and support one another while the kids play and enjoy the outdoors. Join us for a fun-filled Kids ministry party where boys and girls will enjoy their own themed party at the same time hosted by youth volunteers from our very own youth group. Our little ladies will be treated to a tea party with food, crafts, self care, and a special message about God's love and inner beauty, while the boys dive into a tropical themed water party with hot dogs & hamburgers, and of course the gospel. It's all happening in one unforgettable afternoon to help God's children grow in faith, build friendships, and have a blast!

We’re pulling out all the stops for our Back to School Bash this year. It’s going to be the biggest night of the summer and the perfect way to launch into the school year! We’re challenging every student to bring their friends and help us pack out the house, our goal is 100 students that night!

Our Back to School Bash is coming in hot with a full County Fair theme and Western vibes, so come dressed in your best cowboy gear and get ready for a night packed with excitement! We’ll have all the vintage county fair style favorites like pie-eating contests, sack races, hay bale tossing, and bobbing for apples, and much more plus a spread of ridiculously good BBQ to keep everyone fueled. The energy will stay high with games, laughter, and community, and we’ll cap it off with student testimonies, powerful worship, and a challenge to chase after Christ boldly as we head into the school year. It’s going to be an unforgettable kickoff you won’t want to miss!

We’re wrapping up out OPCC Youth summer with a splash, literally! Join us for Slide Outta Summer, a high energy night of Slip & Slide Kickball, themed snacks, and time with friends. This youth only event is a wild, hilarious twist on kickball, featuring swimming pool bases, slippery slides, and nonstop fun. Alongside the chaos, we’ll take a moment to reset with a short time of worship and an encouraging message to help us finish summer strong and focused on Christ. It’s the perfect way to close out the season, loud, messy, and unforgettable!

If your student is heading to camp with us this summer, we’d love for you to join us for a Camp Info Meeting on Wednesday, May 28th at 5:30 PM at the church. This will be a short but important meeting (done by 6:30 before youth group starts) where we’ll walk through all the nitty-gritty details—what to pack, what to expect, and how to get ready for an awesome week away. It’ll also be a great chance to ask any questions you may have. We want everyone to feel prepared, informed, and pumped for camp.

You're invited Sunday, April 27 from 4–7 PM at OPCC for Middle East Q&A, an evening of worship, prayer, and honest conversation.

We’ll seek God’s heart together as we pray for the Middle East, for refugees in Kansas City, and for a move of Jesus among Gen Z and Gen Alpha in that region. We’ll be joined by two missionaries currently living in the Middle East, and open a time of Q&A around how to humbly and lovingly engage with Muslim and warm culture neighbors. Whether you come with deep questions or a desire to listen and learn, this will be a safe, meaningful space to grow in compassion, deepen your faith, and be reminded of God’s heart for all people. We hope to see you there!

Beginning January 26th, a blue barrel will be placed in the lobby, ready to receive your generous donations.

Some of the most needed items include cereal, soup, canned meats, peanut butter, ravioli meals, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta and pasta sauce, canned chili, and juice boxes. Every contribution—whether it’s a box of cereal or a jar of peanut butter—makes a tangible impact on the lives of those in our community who are struggling.
