This will be a short but important meeting (done by 6:30 before youth group starts) where we’ll walk through all the nitty-gritty details—what to pack, what to expect, and how to get ready for an awesome week away. We’ll seek God’s heart together as we pray for the Middle East, for refugees in Kansas City, and for a move of Jesus among Gen Z and Gen Alpha in that region. We’ll be joined by two missionaries currently living in the Middle East, and open a time of Q&A around how to humbly and lovingly engage with Muslim and warm culture neighbors. Whether you come with deep questions or a desire to listen and learn, this will be a safe, meaningful space to grow in compassion, deepen your faith, and be reminded of God’s heart for all people. Beginning January 26th, a blue barrel will be placed in the lobby, ready to receive your generous donations.

Some of the most needed items include cereal, soup, canned meats, peanut butter, ravioli meals, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta and pasta sauce, canned chili, and juice boxes. Every contribution—whether it’s a box of cereal or a jar of peanut butter—makes a tangible impact on the lives of those in our community who are struggling.

The OPCC Annual Business Meeting is just around the corner, happening on Sunday, November 24th, immediately after our second service. This is an exciting opportunity to come together, celebrate God’s faithfulness, and look ahead to the powerful ways He’s moving in our church. Join the OPCC Men’s 318 Ministry for our Fall Bro Bash!

We invite all men to an afternoon of great food, fellowship, and football! Arrive anytime after 2:00 PM to enjoy the pre-game festivities, with the Chiefs vs. Raiders kickoff at 3:20 PM. Gather around the fire pit, challenge friends to a game of corn hole, and cheer on the Chiefs! Delicious food and beverages will be provided—don’t miss out on this exciting day!

Join us at Chicken N Pickle on 135th St. in Overland Park for Pickleball, replacing our usual Sunday Services on Sunday, September 1st, from 9 AM - 2 PM. This is our second annual event, and after the incredible success of last year, you won’t want to miss it!
Food will be served from 9 AM until noon.

Registration:
Please register everyone in your family who may be attending so we can have an accurate count for food. Children aged 13 and up can participate in the Pickleball tournament. One form can register all non-tournament participants, including those aged 13 and up and 12 and under.

Tournament Registration:
For those 13 and up participating in the tournament, each person who registers can also register their partner. If someone has registered you as their partner, you do not need to register separately. Only one form submission is required per pair of tournament players.

General Info:
The OPCC Labor Day PB&J will feature a double-elimination tournament between teams. If you do not wish to compete in the tournament, you can enjoy other activities such as bocce ball, shuffleboard, corn hole, yard games, and open play pickleball.

The Pickleball tournament will have brackets for novice, intermediate, and advanced levels, made up of two-person teams. Teams can be mixed or of the same gender. You are allowed to bring a partner who does not attend OPCC, but you must include them as your partner during registration. If you do not have or do not register a partner, you will be paired with another player in your division.

Food will be provided for all!

Please note: Depending on the number of teams registered, the format may be changed to single elimination.

Do you have some free time or volunteer hours to use? Join Abby Holbrook and fellow volunteers from 10 AM to 3 PM on Wednesday, August 7th, for a day of service. We’ll be restoring the downstairs rock wall, painting walls and play structures, and cleaning and organizing spaces. This is a wonderful opportunity to support our kids' ministries and show our community how much we care. Lunch will be provided! Everyone in the church is welcome to participate.
