Ministry Partner: Haiti Education Project

What The Haiti Education Project Is & Why It Matters:
The Haiti Education Project (HEP) feeds and educates a new generation of children in Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and one of our closest neighbors, just 700 miles from Miami. For over a decade, HEP has partnered directly with a school and church community in Croix des Bouquets, providing scholarships and nutritious meals so kids can stay in school, stay fed, and grow into a generation with hope for their country's future.

Here's How It Works: HEP partners directly with One Family Church in Croix des Bouquets, Haiti. Local teachers and school administrators identify the children most in need, and HEP covers their tuition and provides five nutritious school lunches a week throughout the school year. There's no fund to wait on and no overhead: 100% of what's given goes straight to a school and the kids in it. Right now, that partnership supports over 500 children across 2 schools, with HEP actively seeking sponsors to help it grow into more.

Why It Aligns with Our Mission & Values: As a church, our call is to love our neighbor, care for the vulnerable, and equip the next generation, here and around the world. HEP's work is rooted in that same heart: dignity focused, relationship driven, and committed to seeing children thrive rather than just survive. By partnering with HEP, OPCC can turn our heart for the nations into direct, tangible action.

The Impact & Opportunity For Our Church: Every time a child gets a seat in a classroom instead of staying home, every time a meal replaces an empty stomach, we're part of a story of restoration. The cost to make that happen is almost unbelievable: just $300 sends one child to school for an entire year, lunches included. Individuals can sponsor one or more students, and as a church, we have the chance to help an entire school thrive.

Invitation & Next Steps:
We invite our congregation to be part of this story, whether by sponsoring a child, giving toward our church wide goal, or simply praying for the kids and families of One Family Church. Caring for the vulnerable around the world is part of living out the gospel.
